Second International Conference of the Neurophysiology of Silence
- 26-27 July 2021
The Research Institute of Neuroscience, Education and Didactics (RINED) of the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation is organising the Second Edition of the International Conference on the Neurophysiology of Silence.
Neuroscientists, philosophers, psychologists and meditation experts will explore the theme of silence with a multidisciplinary approach, both from a theoretical-scientific and a practical-applicative perspective. The aim is to deepen the understanding of its effects on the well-being of individuals. Topics will range from the neurophysiology of meditation to the importance of silence in music, to the application of mindfulness in a clinical, professional and personal context. In this time of health crisis, knowing the theory and practice of meditation techniques can help to manage stress, avoid burnout and improve decision-making abilities, crucial factors in decision-making processes.
Guided practical experiences, meditation sessions and artistic performances will complement the theoretical sessions of the programme.
The conference will take place over two days, 26 and 27 July 2021 at Monastery of San Biagio (Nocera Umbra). Each day will be dedicated to the exploring of the theme of silence and emotional regulation from two perspectives. The first day will be dedicated to the didactic/educational point of view, while the second day will be dedicated to the neuroscience and cognitive science point of view.
